January 25

Okay, so I have been slacking - but who can blame me, right?! We finally have Brison in the room and its definitely a good feeling to have. Im glad that he doesnt have to stay in the nursery anymore with all the real sick babies. Kind of makes it a little more scary, but that is a hurdle we have past so I am once again a content new momma.

Labor started about 2AM on Sunday morning with contractions. They were a consistant 4-6 minutes apart, so I finally called the Dr. around 2PM on Sunday afternoon. We were in the exam room about 3PM - found out I was already dilated to a 4 and 80% effaced so Dr. decided to keep us instead of sending me home until the morning. (My induction date.) We finally got into a room and my water was broke and the process was started. I finally gave in to getting an epidural when I was just about at a 7. (7 means no epidural!) After the epidural, everything else was pretty much smooth sailing. Had 1 hour of pushing when the Dr. came in to deliver.. Needless to say, he then realized that Brison was pretty much ready to take a leap out.. Especially when he had to football catch Brison out of the womb! (Such an eager little man already!!)

We got to leave Labor, Delivery & Recovery at 2AM and Brison was taken to the Nursery at about 7AM on 01/24/11 for his blood sugar. He had to stay in the nursery with special restrictions (Breast feeding every 3 hours with 20mL of supplement) until today at around 2PM.

As of right now, Brison has defeated the dreadful low blood sugar. Yay Brison! Dr. Yap says that it is just because of his weight and that because it is not symptomatic, there should not be any effects down the road. We will know for sure in the AM whether we are absolutely in the clear or not.

Brison is a very content little man so far. Only cries when you do something he doesnt like or when hes getting poked by the Nurses. Yes, I know - give it time. But I will enjoy it while it lasts. Im including pictures from our time spent in the hospital and there will for sure be more to come. We have a great friend who has used his fancy camera to document all the good stuff - We are so very thankful for that. If anything, I hope it makes everyone feel like that could be in on the experience at least a little.

(I realize that it would be so much better if the pictures were in order, but there not. Sorry!)

The hospitals internet makes it a little rough to upload anything in mass quantities. I will make sure to get everything else put on here once we get home sometime this week. We are so grateful for all of your blessings and prayers.

Love you all,
All three of us!
